On the Easy Yoke…

Are you tired? Are you sick of this heavy world’s beating? Do you feel overwhelmed and disheartened?

Take heart, there is rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:29

Yeah, yeah, but I don’t even know what a yoke is! Well, take a watch here as Dallas Willard speaks so very plainly on what it means to live in the easy yoke.

There is rest, for everyone, anywhere, no matter who you are or what you’ve done, in salvation…say what, salvation? I don’t even know what that means either.

Well, here’s a nice piece I’ve come across where Thomas Merton’s discusses Salvation that lays out a concept that I’ve found to be helpful (linked below)

“What every man looks for in life is his own salvation and the salvation of the men he lives with. By salvation I mean first of all the full discovery of who he himself really is.”

“This matter of “salvation” is, when seen intuitively, a very simple thing. But when we analyze it, it turns into a complex tangle of paradoxes.”
